Grow Old. Look Young
Aging and the Power of Polyphenols
Growing old has two meanings. The first meaning is the desire to reach an advanced age in good health. Here, growing old means "longevity." We almost always find the other meaning of growing old less pleasant. It means that our appearance shows signs of aging.
The process of looking older begins immediately after puberty. In every human cell, there are two strings of chromosomes (our DNA). We call the ends of those strings telomeres. From the moment you are an adult, these telomeres begin to fray and shorten. This causes new cells to be produced that show signs of aging. You get wrinkles, pigment spots, less firm skin, and gray hair.
Why polyphenol-rich olive oil is essential
Scientific research shows that virtually everything that helps to live longer in good health also helps to counteract the process of visible aging. So that means exercise, lots of colorful vegetables and lots of fruit, eating the peel as much as possible, and lots of olive oil. Polyphenol-rich olive oil (such as EH1200) plays a crucial role in this due to the following scientifically substantiated mechanisms:
Protection of Telomeres: Polyphenols, particularly oleuropein, act as biological protectors of our telomeres. Research shows that a diet rich in these substances can significantly slow the rate at which telomeres shorten by minimizing oxidative stress.
Combating Oxidative Stress: Aging is largely the result of 'oxidation' (similar to rusting). The powerful antioxidants in olive oil, such as hydroxytyrosol, neutralize free radicals before they can cause damage to skin cells and DNA.
Anti-inflammatory effect: Chronic low-grade inflammation is a major cause of accelerated aging. The substance oleocanthal in high-quality olive oil has an effect comparable to ibuprofen, inhibiting tissue decay and preserving skin elasticity for longer. Activation of 'Longevity Genes': Specific polyphenols in early harvest olive oil can activate genes (such as SIRT1) involved in cell repair and extending cell lifespan.
EH1200: You can counteract telomere fraying and support your cells' regenerative capacity. To do this, you need polyphenols. These plant-produced substances are the natural enemy of aging. You will find them in abundance in early harvest olive oil such as EH1200. Daily use of approximately 20ml is not only an investment in your internal health, but also in a vital, youthful appearance.
